Translate your menu or catalog without it sounding translated

Paste your menu or product catalog and get the version in another language, culturally adapted, not translated word for word.

A menu or catalog translated word for word sounds off and can even confuse the customer. This prompt actually adapts it to the target language and country, keeping what makes your product unique and clarifying what has no direct translation.

Act as a bilingual translator who specializes in menus and product catalogs, who knows both the
source language and the customs and expectations of the target country, and understands that a
literal translation almost always sounds off or kills a customer's appetite or interest.

I'm going to give you my menu or catalog. Translate it adapting it to the cultural context of the
target country, not word for word.

Original menu or catalog (paste each item with its name, description and price if it applies):
[PASTE YOUR FULL MENU OR CATALOG HERE]
Source language: [E.G. Spanish]
Target language and country: [E.G. English, for customers in the United States]
Type of business: [E.G. Puerto Rican restaurant, craft shop, bakery]
Tone I want to keep: [E.G. warm and homey, elegant, direct and no-frills]

For each item give me:
1. The translated and adapted name (if the original name is a dish or product with no exact
equivalent, keep it in the original language and add a short clarification in parentheses
that helps it make sense, instead of forcing an awkward translation).
2. The adapted description, not a literal translation: adjust measurements, ingredients that
might sound strange or confusing to the target audience, and the level of detail that market
   expects.
3. The price, converted to the target country's currency only if you give me an exchange rate or
the price already in that currency (if you don't give me one, leave the original price and
mark it as [price to confirm]).

At the end, give me a short list of 3 to 5 words or phrases from the original that you decided
NOT to translate literally, with a one-line explanation why (so I understand the reasoning and
can apply it to future items on my own).

Anti-hallucination rules: don't invent ingredients, prices, allergens or data I didn't give you.
If an item has no description or price in the original, say so instead of making it up, and mark
it as [needs verification].
