Imagine you have a patient who just got their first pair of progressive lenses and has a lot of questions. Instead of writing a long email explaining the adjustment period, you describe the situation to the AI:
“Draft an email for a patient who just received their first pair of progressive lenses. Explain what to expect during the adjustment period, how long it might take, and when they should call the office.”
In seconds you have a complete draft that only needs you to review it and add the patient’s details. What used to take fifteen minutes now takes two.
The part that doesn’t change
AI doesn’t examine eyes, doesn’t detect glaucoma, doesn’t decide whether a patient needs a referral. Your training, your experience, and your clinical judgment are irreplaceable. But the time you spend on office tasks can be reduced.
