How to Make a Professional Resume with AI

AI needs real data to make a good CV. If you don’t give it your information, it makes things up, and that can ruin your application. Before you start, prepare this in a text document or on paper:

Basic data:

• Full name, email address, phone number, LinkedIn (if you have one), city or country.

Work experience (for each job):

• Company name, position, start and end dates.
• 3 to 5 specific things you did or achieved (with numbers if possible: “increased sales by 20%”, “managed a team of 5 people”).

Education:

• Institution, degree or course, graduation year.

Skills:

• Software, languages, sector-specific tools.

Achievements or standout projects (optional but valuable):

• Certifications, publications, freelance projects, relevant volunteer work.

With this base ready, AI will do the rest in minutes.

ChatGPT is the most flexible starting point for writing a resume with AI, and the free plan is enough.

1. Go to https://chatgpt.com and sign in (or create a free account).
2. Open a new chat and paste this prompt, replacing the brackets with your information:

You are an expert in HR and resume writing.
Using the following data, create a professional CV in English, well-structured and ready to send.
Include these sections: Professional Summary, Experience, Education, Skills.

Use action verbs at the start of each achievement bullet. Clean format, no complex tables.

A generic CV has little chance. The trick with AI is to adapt your base CV to each job posting in minutes.

1. Copy the full text of the job posting you want to apply for.
2. In the same ChatGPT chat (or a new one), write:
