Trump Names Jay Clayton to Chair New 'Super Intelligence Force'

My take: While the S.I. rename still hasn't touched a single contract or statute, the White House has already named its first body built entirely around that label: the "Super Intelligence Force," which the Wall Street Journal reports will be chaired by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton. The group, whose members include Vice President JD Vance and several cabinet secretaries, has 120 days to deliver a report on AI's risks and opportunities and recommend what role the federal government should play.

For anyone using AI at work or running a business, the interesting part isn't the name, it's the signal: Washington is treating this as a national security matter, not a tech trend. That usually means more regulatory attention down the road, though this administration's approach so far favors letting industry regulate itself before the government imposes new rules.

I keep thinking about this the same way I always do: AI is a tool that makes you more efficient, not an entity to fear or put on a pedestal because of whatever name it's given. If you're a business owner or freelancer, are you documenting how and why you use AI at work, so that when the rules arrive, whoever writes them, you already have the habit in place?
