How to create a brand kit with AI

Every brand kit starts from a base: what you do, for whom and with what personality. Open Claude or ChatGPT and ask it to help you define it.

Try this prompt:

Help me define my brand's essence. My business is [describe what you do]
and I speak to [describe your ideal client]. Give me:
1. A clear mission statement.
2. 3 core values.
3. 5 words that describe the brand's personality (e.g., warm, modern).
Ask me questions if you're missing information.

Save the answers that represent you best. This base guides every decision that follows (colors, typography, voice).

Colors communicate emotion before words do. Ask the AI for a palette based on your brand personality:

With this brand personality [paste the 5 words from step 1], propose a palette
of 5 colors in hex code (HEX): a primary color, a secondary one, an accent and
two neutrals. Explain in one line what each one conveys.

Take the HEX codes (something like #7C3AED) and test them in Coolors (coolors.co) to see the palette together and adjust tones. Write down the 5 final codes: you’ll need them in every asset.

Tip: less is more. With 1 primary color, 1 accent and 2 neutrals you already have a solid brand.

A brand usually uses two typefaces: one for headings and one for reading body text. Ask the AI for free options:

Recommend 3 free Google Fonts pairings for my brand [paste your personality].
For each pairing, tell me which goes in headings, which in body text and why it
fits the brand.

Search the names on Google Fonts (fonts.google.com), preview them with your own text and pick the pairing that feels like yours. Save the two names.

Simple rule: one typeface with character for headings and a clean, legible one for paragraphs.

Voice is how your brand sounds when it writes: warm or formal, playful or serious. It’s what makes a caption feel like yours. Ask the AI for a voice guide:

With my brand personality [paste it], create a mini voice guide with:
1. 3 adjectives that describe the tone.
2. What we DO and DON'T do when writing.
3. An example of the same sentence written "without a brand" and "in our voice".

That before/after example is gold: use it as a reference every time you write or when you ask the AI for text. Save it in your kit.

For the rest, open Canva:

1. Create a free account at canva.com.
2. Upload or set your colors (the HEX codes from step 2) and choose your fonts (step 3).
3. Search for “Instagram post” or “logo” templates and swap colors and fonts for yours.
4. Download your base templates to reuse them.

Gather everything into a single document (in Canva, Google Docs or a PDF) to keep it handy and share it with anyone who collaborates with you. Include:

• Logo (main version and an alternate).
• Color palette with the HEX codes.
• Typography (heading and body) with their names.
• Voice (adjectives, do’s and don’ts, the before/after example).
• Usage examples (a post, a cover, an email signature).

Ask the AI to help you write the descriptions:

Help me write the "brand usage" page for my kit, explaining in a simple tone
when to use each color and typeface.

Done! You now have a professional brand kit that keeps everything consistent.
