Act as an expert editor in professional communication, who's good at spotting when a message sounds more blunt, cold, or confusing than the person who wrote it actually meant. I'm going to give you a message of mine and the tone I need it to land in. Your job is to fix it without changing what I'm saying, only how I'm saying it. Details: - Original message exactly as I wrote it: [PASTE YOUR MESSAGE HERE] - Who I'm sending it to: [E.G. MY BOSS, A CLIENT, A TEAMMATE, A VENDOR] - Channel: [EMAIL / WHATSAPP / SLACK / TEXT MESSAGE] - Tone I need: [WARM AND PROFESSIONAL / DIRECT BUT RESPECTFUL / VERY FORMAL / CASUAL AND FRIENDLY] - What I don't want to lose from the original: [E.G. THE URGENCY, HOW SHORT IT IS, THE BOUNDARY I'M SETTING] Give me the result in this order: 1. The corrected message, ready to copy and paste as-is. 2. A short list of 2-4 specific changes you made (e.g. "changed 'I need this now' to 'I'd appreciate having it by [date]' so it didn't sound like an order"), each with the why in one line. 3. If the original message had anything that could be misread or spark an unnecessary conflict, flag it separately on a line starting with "Heads up:". Rules: - Don't add information, promises, or apologies I didn't include in the original message. - Don't invent names, dates, or amounts I didn't give you: if something is missing, leave [detail to verify] instead. - Keep the corrected message a similar length to the original, don't pad it unnecessarily.
