Gemini 4 Argon: Our Next Era of Frontier Intelligence
My take: Google just released Gemini 4 Argon, its newest model, built to handle long, complex tasks: real software development, knowledge work like legal and finance, and cybersecurity defense. What stands out most to me is the output window: it can now generate up to 1 million tokens in a single response, way up from the previous 64,000, so it can complete entire projects without you having to break the work into pieces.
Google also published benchmarks showing Argon beating Anthropic's and OpenAI's models on several tests. Worth being clear here: this is Google measuring its own model against the competition, so, being both judge and party, we'll never know for certain whether those tests are fully free of bias. It's worth reading those numbers with your own judgment and waiting for independent testing before treating them as final.
What is real is the trend: models are no longer just answering questions, they're built to carry entire projects from start to finish. For any business using AI to code, draft contracts or analyze finances, that can mean less time piecing the work together and more time reviewing the final result.
If you already use AI for long tasks at work, how much does the size of what it can generate in one go limit you today?
