My take: For the more than one billion people who already use Gemini every month, September 4 marked a milestone: Google began replacing Google Assistant on Android, Wear OS, and Android Auto. The change is gradual, may take several weeks, and once it reaches your device, it is irreversible.

Gemini is significantly more capable than the classic Assistant: it handles complex in-app tasks, responds with more context, and connects with data from your Google ecosystem. The transition is not just cosmetic; it is a functionality leap.
