AI data centers just got a government-mandated fast lane to the grid
My take: Here is AI's hidden cost peeking out: electricity. The US government is forcing power grids to give AI data centers a 'fast lane,' those buildings that swallow energy like entire cities (in Chicago demand could rise 900%). It made me realize something: the AI we use from a little screen is not just software, underneath it is real metal, water and electricity. And someone pays that bill. Worth tracking, because AI's real limit in the coming years may not be the technology, but energy. That's my opinion, of course.
